“Barbie You Can Be Anything Campaign” - Terms & Conditions

  1. Campaign Details, Concept, Prize and Participation
  1. These terms and conditions apply to the "Barbie You Can Be Anything Campaign" which includes the multi-city tour within India at Hamleys stores for consumers (hereinafter referred to as the "Campaign") sponsored and launched by Mattel Toys (India) Private Limited (having CIN: U36940MH1986PTC040426 and its registered office at: Office No. 03A108/109, WeWork Enam Sambhav, C-20, G-Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra East, Mumbai City, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, 400051) (hereinafter referred to as "MATTEL"), in association with Hamleys, Reliance Brands Limited having its registered office at 5th Floor, Court House, Lokmanya Tilak Marg, Dhobi Talao, Mumbai City, Maharashtra – 400002, India (hereinafter referred to as "HAMLEYS"). A consumer can participate in the Campaign after registering on the Campaign website mybarbie.in (hereinafter referred to as the "Campaign Website") and answering certain questions.
  2. This Campaign is available in India only from 18/07/2024 to 31/03/2025 (hereinafter referred to as the "Campaign Period" and includes auditions which as part of this Campaign available in India only from 20/07/2024 to 01/09/2024) is subject to availability and government regulations. Accordingly, all consumers who participate in the Campaign are required to read, adhere, and comply with all the terms and conditions mentioned herein.
  3. During the Campaign Period, up to 5 winners will be selected from the auditions to be held during the said period, by the Agency described in step 3b. below, who will each win an opportunity to be featured within the 2024 India brand campaign of Barbie, along with some Barbie products as gifts (to be showcased on the day of the event – subject to change), discount vouchers of up to 15% off or anything else as may be decided by Mattel at its discretion (hereinafter referred to as the "Prize") on Barbie doll products sold by Mattel India on their next purchase.
  4. All intellectual property rights including trademark, copyright, and designs used in the Campaign and/or materials associated therewith are the property of their respective owners.
  5. The Campaign is subject to all applicable central, state, and local laws and regulations.
  6. Individuals participating in the Campaign shall individually be referred to as a "Participant" and collectively as the "Participants".
  1. Agreement to Terms and Conditions
  1. By participating in this Campaign, Participants fully and unconditionally agree to and accept these Terms and Conditions. The decisions of MATTEL will be final and binding in all matters related to the Campaign. Successfully entering the Campaign auditions and winning a Prize is subject to compliance with all requirements set forth herein and as may be requested by MATTEL.
  2. MATTEL reserves the right to exclude any person from the Campaign on grounds of misconduct or criminal record or for any other reasons, as it may deem fit and proper. No communication in this regard will be entertained by MATTEL.
  3. MATTEL reserves the right to terminate, modify or extend the Campaign and/or Campaign Period and/or deletion or addition of any of the terms and conditions of the Campaign, at any time at its absolute discretion, without advance notice and/or assigning any reason thereof. All decisions of MATTEL in respect of the Campaign and the Prizes will be final, binding, and conclusive.
  1. Eligibility
  1. This Campaign is open to all kids (accompanied with parents/guardians) who are consumers between the age of 3 years to 9 years as on 5th September and are residents of India with the exception of any State/Union Territory in India where it is prohibited by law.
  2. Employees of MATTEL, HAMLEYS and Schbang Digital Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Agency"), their vendors appointed or contracted for this event, and their respective immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the auditions for the Campaign.
  3. The assured chance to audition for the Campaign is applicable on the purchase of Barbie doll products worth INR 499 (MRP inclusive of all taxes) or more, sold by MATTEL (hereinafter referred to as "SKUs") at HAMLEYS stores online and offline between 20/07/2024 and 01/09/24. The offer is applicable only to said SKUs and is not applicable on purchase of any other product at any other stores.
  4. Eligibility for audition requires the purchase of genuine Mattel products only, during the period mentioned in 3 (c). This offer is valid exclusively at HAMLEYS that carry the specified SKUs.
  5. Participants must provide, if asked, a GST-compliant invoice to qualify for the audition.
  6. MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency will not be responsible for any NDNC (National Do Not Call) registry regulation that will come into play. All Participants who participate in the campaign will agree as per these terms and conditions that even if they are registered under NDNC, DND (Do Not Disturb), MATTEL and/or the Agency will have all the authority to call/message such shortlisted winners by virtue of them having voluntarily participated in the Campaign, and no legal action shall be taken by a Participant against MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency in this regard.
  1. Auditions for Campaign Period & Timings
  1. The Auditions for Campaign will commence from 12:00:01 AM on 20/07/2024 and will close on 11:59:59 PM on 01/09/2024 ("Audition for Campaign Closing Date").
  2. Presenting original Pink Ticket and/or electronic invites issued directly at and by HAMLEYS both, offline and/or online are mandatory to be carried and presented to be allowed access into the audition booth. Right to admission reserved. The Pink Ticket does not guarantee a spot in the campaign.
  3. Any Ticket or electronic invite, including the Pink Ticket, issued for the purpose of entry into the event or the audition cannot be exchanged for goods, discounts, cash at the event nor in future. 
  4. The time of participation will be defined as the time at which the entry is received through registration or online submission on the Campaign Website.
  5. Entries coming outside this Period will not be considered for winner selection.
  6. Time slots at these events are limited and are on first-come-first-serve basis. MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency will not be responsible for any delays, missed opportunity, and/or any inconvenience caused to the attendees or guests.
  7. The scheduled shoot for the campaign will take place on a weekday and therefore the participants will be required to take off from their school and their accompanying parents/ legal guardian must also ensure their availability on the specified dates. The shoot date is fixed and cannot be rescheduled and in the event that a participant is unable to attend the shoot, no compensation will be provided, nor the date will be rescheduled and the opportunity for the participant to be featured in the campaign film shall be forfeited.
  1. How to Participate
  1. Subject to steps 6a. and 6h. below, a Participant can enter any number of times during the audition for Campaign Period.
  2. A Participant will be required to scan a QR code or visit mybarbie.in available at the purchasing HAMLEYS store, on the date of purchase of the relevant SKU or within the campaign period, and thereafter complete the online registration/pre-booking process on the Campaign Website and upload requisite/specified document(s) to participate in the Campaign.
  3. After registration/pre-booking, a Participant will be required to submit requested information to constitute a valid entry in the Campaign.
  4. MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency shall not be responsible for (including but not limited to):
  5. For any SPAM generated messages;
  6. For any SMS message delivery failures;
  7. Any lost, late or misdirected computer transmission or network, electronic failures of any kind or any failure to receive entries owing to transmission failures or due to any technical reason;
  8. Non-receipt of calls/messages due to the registration of a Participant to the DND of the telecom provider/National Do Not Call Registry/any other restriction which a Participant has specifically requested for not receiving messages for the specific campaign.
  9. Other conditions beyond its control.
  1. Winner Selection
  1. Any Participant can win a maximum of one (1) Prize per item to be disclosed during the pre-buzz period on HAMLEYS’ Instagram during the Campaign Period.
  2. From the valid entries received, the Agency will select up to five (5) winners who have answered the question on the audition video submitted online on mybarbie.in or through the auditions during the event with the most creativity (as decided by the Agency). The winners will win Prizes in the Campaign Period (hereinafter referred to as the "Winners"), subject to such Winners being the Confirmed Winners as stipulated herein below.
  3. Subject to Clause 3a, Winners from these 5 participating in-store events and audition entries received via mybarbie.in will be selected by a panel constituted by the Agency using any objective method selected by the Agency irrespective of the time of the entry into the Campaign but subject to the same being during the aforementioned dates of the audition phase during the Campaign Period.
  4. The Prize cannot be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash. In the event a Winner does not take the Prize in the time and manner stipulated, then the Prize will be forfeited by the Winner. Cash will not be awarded in lieu of the Prize. Prize(s) must be taken as offered and cannot be varied. Any unclaimed Prize/unused Prize is not transferable, non-refundable, and non-redeemable for other goods or services and cannot be taken in exchange for cash.
  5. MATTEL shall provide the Prize on an "as-is-where-is basis" and without any warranty or guarantee concerning the quality, suitability, or comfort, and MATTEL/Agency and/or its associates, affiliates, and/or its management, directors, officers, agents, representatives shall not be responsible for or liable (including but not limited to the product and service liabilities) for the deficiency and/or defect of any product/service and/or the Prize or for any consequential damages/loss, in any manner whatsoever. If any Participant has any grievance with respect to the Prize, he/she may write to us on contact@mybarbie.in.
  6. The image and mentions of the Prize depicted on the press advertisements/posters/TVC's etc. are for illustrative purposes only, and the actual Prize may vary from the depiction made.
  7. MATTEL and/or the Agency shall not be liable for any loss or damage of the Prize due to Act of God, governmental action, force majeure circumstances, and/or any other reasons which are beyond the control of MATTEL and/or the Agency, and under no circumstances, MATTEL and/or the Agency shall be liable to pay any compensation whatsoever for such losses.
  8. Any Participant of the Campaign who wins once during the Campaign Period shall not be eligible to win any further Prizes.
  1. Contacting Winners
  1. Once the Winners are selected, the Agency shall announce up to 5 Winners on HAMLEYS social media by or before 2nd September 2024. Thereafter, the Agency will arrange for travel and accommodation to Mumbai for campaign shoot and distribution of Prizes to the Winners by emailing or calling the said Winners’ parents/legal guardian on the email ID or telephone number registered by them at the time of pre-booking or spot registration during the Campaign period.
  2. In the event the shortlisted Winner’s number is busy, unreachable, or he/she does not attend the call, up to two (2) more attempts will be made to reach a Winner on his/her mobile number. If even on the third attempt, the Winner does not attend the call, or is unreachable, (i) an SMS will be sent to the Winner; and (ii) an email/post will be sent to the Winner, and if there is no response within one (1) business day of sending the SMS and/or email/post, the Participant’s participation in the Campaign shall come to an end and the Participant’s entry shall stand canceled/forfeited, and the Participant becomes ineligible to receive the Prize.
  3. In the event the shortlisted Winner attends the call on either the second or third attempt or responds after sending the SMS or email/post as stated in step 7b. above, the procedure outlined in step 7d. herein below shall apply.
  4. In case of a positive response from the shortlisted Winner, each such shortlisted Winner’s parent/legal guardian will be required to send the following documents and information:
  1. Copy of Aadhaar Card or PAN Card is mandatory of the parent/legal guardian for KYC.
  2. No objection/claim certificate from the Winner’s parent/legal guardian.
  3. Release Agreement
  4. Any other document as may be requested.


The above (i) to (iv) are referred to as the "Participation Package" for the Winner. A Participant, as and when requested, agrees to share the Participation Package with MATTEL and/or the Agency and/or their respective authorized representatives. The completed Participation Package needs to be sent by email at: contact@mybarbie.in within two (2) business days of the call made/email sent by Agency and/or its authorized representative to the selected Winner.

  1. Upon receipt of the Participation Package, MATTEL and/or the Agency shall scrutinize all documents. If the documents submitted are in order and valid, then a Participant will be treated as a Confirmed Winner.
  2. No Prize will be awarded including participation in the audition if the information presented/submitted by the Participant(s) at the time of entering the Campaign is not factually correct.
  3. MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency shall not be responsible for any accident or mishap or loss of the Participation Package in e-mail transit. 
  4. The responsibility of ensuring that the Participation Package reaches the specified e-mail Id above lies solely with the Participant.
  5. MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency shall not be responsible for any accident or mishap, loss, injury or death  of the Participant and his/her accompanying parents/legal guardian during travel to the shoot location and back. 
  6. No justification/explanation for non-receipt of the Participation Package or any missing documents shall be accepted by MATTEL and/or the Agency.
  7. In the event of the death of the Confirmed Winner, no claim from the nominee or his/her legal heirs of the Confirmed Winner shall be entertained for receiving the Prize.
  1. Publicity
  1. The Participants and/or Winners and their parents/legal guardian undertake and irrevocably and unconditionally permit MATTEL and/or its authorized representatives to cover the Campaign through various media, including newspapers, radio, television news channels, the internet, point of sale materials, etc., and shall not raise any objection or protest to such coverage in this regard. Additionally, the Winners represented by the parents / legal guardian shall be signing and providing to MATTEL a general Release letter. 
  2. The Winners must, at the request of MATTEL and/or its authorized representatives, participate in all promotional activity (such as publicity, photography and videography) surrounding the winning of the Prize, free of charge, and they consent to MATTEL using their name, static and video content in promotional and related material.
  1. Intellectual Property
  1. All right, title, and interest, including but not limited to the intellectual property rights, in the promotional material(s) and in any and all responses received shall vest solely and exclusively with MATTEL at all times. MATTEL or any person or entity permitted by MATTEL in this regard shall be entitled to use the responses received or any information in connection with the entry in any media for future promotional, marketing, publicity, and any other purpose, without any permission and or payment to the Participant.
  2. All material submitted in connection with the Campaign (whether written, audio, electronic, or visual form, or a combination of those) or any photographs, video and/or film footage and/or audio recording taken of Participants are assigned to MATTEL upon submission and become the property of MATTEL exclusively. MATTEL may use such material in any medium in any manner it sees fit. Copyright in any such material remains the sole property of MATTEL and/or its affiliates (as decided by MATTEL).
  1. General Terms & Conditions
  1. Each Participant represented by their parent/legal guardian warrants that he/she is legally competent to enter into binding contracts under applicable laws. By taking part and/or entering into the Campaign, the Participants together with their parent/legal guardian warrant that all information provided by them of the Participant regarding Participant's name, age, state, city, address, phone number, email ID, proof of purchase such as invoice, etc., is true, correct, accurate, and complete.
  2. The decision of MATTEL and/or the Agency, as regards the selection of Winners/Confirmed Winners and distribution of the Prizes shall be final, subject only to MATTEL's approval. No correspondence or any other claims whatsoever, in this regard will be entertained.
  3. The Prizes, as applicable and depending upon the nature of the prizes  shall be sent to the address of the Participant given at the time of registration or in any other manner as may be deemed fit by MATTEL.
  4. No queries, claims, disputes, complaints, or grievances shall be entertained by MATTEL and/or the Agency after two (2) days from the date of the Audition for Campaign Closing Date referred to in step 4a. above.
  5. Wherever gift tax/tax deducted at source/any other tax is applicable, such tax amounts will be borne by the Confirmed Winner.
  6. The Prize cannot be exchanged and is not transferable and cannot be converted into cash.
  7. MATTEL reserves the right to change, defer, alter, or cancel this Campaign in part or full, or change any or all of the terms and conditions that are applicable, without giving prior intimation/notice of any kind and will not be liable for any consequential losses/damages. Any decision of MATTEL in this regard and in general with respect to the Campaign and its terms and conditions thereto shall be final, binding, and conclusive.
  8. Nothing contained herein amounts to a commitment or representation by MATTEL to conduct further campaigns.
  9. The decision of MATTEL in regard to the Campaign and matters incidental thereto shall be final in all regards, and no communication shall be entertained in this regard. None of the provisions of these General Terms & Conditions and any other terms and conditions associated with the Campaign shall be deemed to constitute a partnership or agency between any Participant and MATTEL and/or the Agency, and the Participant/Winner/Confirmed Winner shall not have the authority to bind MATTEL and/or the Agency in any manner whatsoever.
  10. MATTEL and/or the Agency and/or any of its/their respective officers/employees/directors shall not be responsible for delayed, lost, mutilated, corrupted, or illegible documents, etc.
  11. MATTEL and/or the Agency shall not be liable to perform any of its/their respective obligations under the Campaign or in respect of the Prize where it is unable to do so as a result of circumstances beyond its/their control in the nature of fire, explosions, natural calamities, state emergency, riots, or any other force majeure conditions, etc., and shall not be liable to compensate the Participant/Winner/Confirmed Winner in these circumstances.
  12. MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency shall not be accountable/liable for any disruptions/stoppages/interruptions or cancellation of the Campaign due to any government restrictions.
  13. Failure to exercise or delay in exercising a right or remedy provided hereunder or by law does not constitute a waiver of the right or remedy or waiver of other rights or remedies on the part of MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency.
  14. MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency accept no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted, or misdirected entries, loss of SMS, loss of internet connectivity, unique codes, documents, demand drafts, claims or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, unauthorized data hacking, deletion, theft, destruction, virus attack, transmission interruption, communications failure, hardware failure or otherwise. MATTEL, HAMLEYS and/or the Agency shall not be liable for any consequences of user error including (without limitation) costs incurred.
  15. If a Participant is dissatisfied with the Campaign or the Campaign rules and/or any content or any requirements of the Campaign form, the materials available related thereto, or with these General Terms & Conditions and/or any terms and conditions associated with the Campaign, his/her sole and exclusive remedy is to not participate in the Campaign.
  16. Subject to the eligibility criteria of the Campaign, if a person chooses to access the Campaign Website from outside India, he/she shall do so on his/her initiative and shall be responsible for compliance with applicable local laws of the country.
  17. Participation in the Campaign is purely voluntary, and the same shall be construed as an acceptance of all the terms and conditions stipulated herein.
  18. Validity of the Campaign or time for awarding the Prize cannot be extended, OR new Prize cannot be provided against the forfeited Prize.
  19. All disputes arising out of or in connection with the Campaign are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, India only.
